KORE Sponsors Round
The Mountain Event

One weekend, five challenges and an electrifying project. The Round The Mountain (RTM) event returns to Kimberley, British Columbia this June and KORE is helping to sponsor and host the “Electrify The Mountain Trails” initiative at the Kimberley Nordic Lodge on Sunday.

RTM is a family festival that will take place June 22-23 this year and will include hiking, running, and mountain biking challenges on some of Kimberley’s best singletrack on Saturday and the Electrify event on Sunday.

Sponsored by KORE, the Kootenay Trails Society, and the City of Kimberley, Sunday’s activities are a celebration of the completion of the Electrify The Mountains trail networks and will include the following activities:

  • Group Runs & Rides

Take part in group rides with the Kootenay Freewheelers or group runs with Purcell Outdoors. Both will be tailored to different skill levels, allowing you to explore the best trails suited to your abilities. Alternatively, you can explore the trails on your own and join in for the celebrations afterwards.

  • Demo E-bikes & Trail Runners

Purcell Outdoors will be on site with a selection of trail running shoes and Black Dog Cycle and Ski will have various electric bikes to demo.

  • Music

There will be a ribbon cutting by Mayor McCormick at 1pm and local singer/songwriter Oliver McQuaid will follow.

  • Food & Drinks

Refreshments will be available from Overtime Beers Works and food will also be available.

  • KORE Info Tent

Drop by the KORE booth to learn more about its innovative contributions to the outdoor industry in the Kootenays.

Saturday’s sold-out races include a 20km trek, 10km or 20km run, and 20km bike for the adults as well as kids races for different age groups.

There will also be beer garden on Saturday, opening at 11am, and at 7pm there will be movies showcased at Centre 64 including “Only A Ride,” “Line Choice,” and “Journey to 100.” All money raised from the movie night will go towards the revitalization project at the Kimberley Bike Park.
