How to Incorporate AI into
Your Business Right Now

At the recent KORE online Speaker Series, AIQ Group owner Brett Price shared his strategy for incorporating artificial intelligence in day-to-day business.

Imagine Albert Einstein is always at your beck and call. His famously dishevelled hair is forever in your periphery and you have the ability to ask him any question at any time and get an instantaneous answer.

Now imagine Einstein is more than just a genius scientist: he’s also a talented painter, writer, data analyst, engineer, chef, teacher, and, well, every known profession on earth. That’s what it’s like for business owners who regularly use tools that incorporate artificial intelligence, according to Brett Price, owner of Vancouver, BC-based AIQ Group.

“AI is like having an Einstein in your pocket,” Brett said at a recent KORE online Speaker Series event. Aside from the consulting group, Brett also owns custom cycling apparel company Kazoom and so he knows the outdoor gear market intimately. He targeted his presentation towards those in the rec-tech industry and offered five ways small-to-medium-sized businesses can put AI to work right now.

One of the most important takeaways from Brett’s presentation is the fact AI isn’t going anywhere and the sooner you become familiar with it the better. Discounting AI is like discounting the Internet. However, unlike the 1990s, AI is evolving at hyper-speed. Brett says it’s not that important for business owners to keep up with all the advancements, but it is vital they know the basics.

Brett touched on the two types of AI currently available: chatbots and AI-powered software such as ChatGPT, which stands for “Generative Pre-trained Transformer.” In order to interface with the latter, it’s important to know how to create prompts. See the slide below for advice about how to use them effectively.

AI FOR OPERATIONS

Artificial Intelligence can be used to automate many different tasks within your business and Brett went off script at this point of his presentation to show live examples. (It starts at the 32:05 mark in the video above.)  Over the next 20 minutes he did the following:

  • Use Google Gemini within Google Docs to summarize a 25-page transcript from a focus group and the AI took about four seconds to do just that.
  • Drop a 28-page document that included numerical data as well as written survey responses into ChatGPT and asked it to summarize and kept prompting for deeper analysis.
  • Use Gemini extension within Gmail to craft a response to an email pertaining to his KORE presentation.
  • Create a photograph in ChatGPT.
  • Use ChatGPT to help design a bike jersey.

The slide below shows other business operations and tasks that can be automated with AI.

Other Uses for AI in Your Business

Brett touched on other ways AI can be incorporated into your business and the slides from that portion of the presentation can be seen below. In summary, he identified five things all business owners should do related to incorporating AI into the day-to-day business activities:

  1. Identify your biggest time-sucks.
  2. Use a GPT or AI-powered software to improve processes
  3. Try before you buy
  4. Set clear goals
  5. Roll out slowly and train your team
