Ali Wines is the founder and managing director of Uncommon Ground, a communications consultancy for sustainable brands and environmental nonprofits. She is the former Executive Director at Protect Our Winters Canada, and a recovering lawyer and management consultant. Born and raised in Australia, she has worked in communications and advisory roles around the world for the last 20 years, and today works with clients like the Forest Stewardship Council, SkiCAN, the Alpine Club of Canada and Yellowstone to Yukon to move the dial with effective strategies and compelling stories. Ali is a keen skier and former ski patroller, and a slow but enthusiastic trail runner and mountain biker. She lives in Toronto with her husband, two daughters and a needy German Shepherd named Howqua, but her heart is always in the mountains.
