Give us a brief description of your manufacturing processes and philosophy
The apparel is made in Canada in Toronto and Quebec and some new products soon coming from Vancouver.
How many employees and/or contractors do you work with?
Just the two of us. We currently work with six Canadian factories though.
What brought you to the Kootenays and how long have you been here?
We love the Kootenays!
Tell us about the history and relative work experience of your founder(s).
We worked in the logging industry but both of us had aspirations of getting into apparel. Mike did promotional products as a side business for many years before we joined forces and did it full-time together. Through that we discovered we wanted to create our own vision. With all the challenges we seen and endured through importing products, we knew we wanted to be more hands-on and make things in Canada. Now we have at least three years of experience and network building under our belts, which has been a key factor in navigating an apparel brand start-up with items manufactured in Canada. It took us a long time to get from idea to actual launch which was May 2024, two years after we finally picked a name, which also took a long time.
Describe the mission, vision, goals, and aspirations of your company.
We are working at setting up a manufacturing component to our business and will offer that as a service to other brands. The vision is a space that has room to expand (something that a lot of BC manufacturers currently lack) in a community that has the opportunity to build more housing. We are looking to invest in new technology that supports making high-quality technical apparel while eliminating some inefficiencies, helps with employee retention, and reduces waste production.
