We build snowboards, splitboards and skis on a semi-custom basis. We also repair many high-performance composite products.
Give us a brief description of your manufacturing processes and philosophy
Our manufacturing process is hand-layup of high-performance composite materials (CFRP/GFRP) using vacuum bag/autoclave curing. Our philosophy is to utilize high-performance materials to provide customers with gear that matches their requirements at the highest level. We specialize in responsibly using lightweight materials while maintaining exceptional durability.
How many employees and/or contractors do you work with?
One. Me.
What brought you to the Kootenays and how long have you been here?
Tell us about the history and relative work experience of your founder(s).
I worked doing some typical mountain town positions including driving a snowcat, working at a ski shop and as a bike mechanic. I also worked as a stonemason for 15 years in Golden. Whilst doing those survival jobs, I also continued building snowboards and later skis and splitboards. I also did a stint building titanium mountain bike frames.
Describe the mission, vision, goals, and aspirations of your company.
At a base level, I really want to use the experience I have gained in the last thirty years to provide customers with the high-performance gear that does what they want it to. That can include the basics, like snowboards, splitboards and skis, but can also include custom items, weird projects (such as a monoski!) and doing excellent repairs on everything from aircraft and boats to skis and boards.
