Give us a brief description of your manufacturing processes and philosophy

CruxLab’s manufacturing processes focus on modularity, customization, and sustainability. We use a combination of manual craftsmanship and semi-automated production to create our BoulderBox climbing walls, ensuring high-quality and precision. Our philosophy centers on creating sustainable, living-wage jobs while fostering innovation and community impact through our products.

Two.

What brought you to the Kootenays and how long have you been here?

I have been in the Kootenays for almost 10 years now, I attended College of the Rockies ATBO Program in Golden, BC and haven’t left the Kootenays since. Currently in Lemon Creek/Slocan for the past 4 years.

Tell us about the history and relative work experience of your founder(s).

TC Braun, the founder of CruxLab, has over 15 years of experience in outdoor recreation, tourism, and marketing. He has worked as a guide and instructor in various outdoor activities, including canoeing, ATV tours, and mountain biking. TC also has extensive experience in marketing and business development, having founded Whitetooth Marketing and worked as a Marketing Specialist for several companies. His background includes roles in customer service, operations, and experience management in the tourism and hospitality industries. TC holds a diploma in Adventure Tourism Business Operations and is certified in multiple outdoor and safety programs, as well as digital marketing strategies.

Mission: BoulderBox aims to revolutionize the climbing experience by integrating AI-driven innovation, modular design, and biophilic sanctuary elements into dynamic, evolving systems. We inspire climbers of all levels to push their boundaries by providing adaptive, intelligent platforms that grow with their skills and seamlessly blend into their lifestyles. Through community-focused development, ethical practices, and cutting-edge technology, we foster a culture of inclusivity, sustainability, and connection, ensuring that every climber can thrive in a space that feels like home.

Vision: Our vision is to establish the Kootenays as the global hub for modular adventure systems innovation while creating sustainable, local living-wage jobs. We aim to revolutionize indoor climbing by creating modular, adaptable climbing walls that seamlessly integrate into your living space. Our products are designed to grow with you, offering a unique blend of functionality, aesthetics, and innovation.

Goals: Launch and sustainably grow BoulderBox using a lean approach, focusing on essential investments and leveraging internal resources. Scale production from startup to full in-house production, reducing outsourcing dependency and increasing production capacity. Achieve financial sustainability and profitability through a clear financial roadmap.

Aspirations: BoulderBox aspires to become leaders in AI-driven innovation within the climbing and fitness industry, setting new standards for modular, adaptive, and intelligent training systems. We aim to be recognized not only for our groundbreaking products but also for our commitment to community development and ethical business practices.
