Back Country Rack

We provide high-quality snowboard and ski racks for all makes of snow machines including Arctic Cat, Yamaha, Polaris, Skidoo, and Lynx.

Give us a brief description of your manufacturing processes and philosophy

Our designs came from many years of R&D and all our pieces are outsourced using various local BC companies. Each one of our racks is assembled in Fernie, BC.

How many employees and/or contractors do you work with?

We have two partners including Eric Thomson and Todd Farmer.

What brought you to the Kootenays and how long have you been here?

Snowboarding, skiing, snowmobiling, and other winter sports brought us here as well as work.We’ve been in the Fernie area for 22 years now.

Tell us about the history and relative work experience of your founder(s).

Todd Farmer is an avid skateboarder and snowboarder who found he needed a snowboard rack for his snow machine. Eric Thomson is also an avid snowboarder, powsurfer, and skateboarder and the two had the opportunity to take the company over from some mutual friends in October of 2021. “It’s a labour of love,” says Todd.

Describe the mission, vision, goals, and aspirations of your company.

Our goals are to have fun and provide a high-quality product at an affordable cost for end users. We strive to keep up with current models of snow machines to continue to provide the best possible snowboard and ski racks and accessories.
