Zapped Outfitters is a collection of fully reflective performance gear for all ages. In an age where awesome innovation counts, Zapped hits the market at the perfect time: Zapped is the first and only collection of its kind, offering fully gender-neutral essentials for long dark days of winter while fashionable enough to wear every day, year round! Ideal for urban centres where we are exposed to high volumes of road traffic, and for remote communities where street lights are few and far between, Zapped has visibility covered along with resilient protection from our harsh Canadian elements, keeping us safer on the streets. We are a Canadian brand, inspired by Canadian winters.

Why we built it:
Did you know that 75% of pedestrian traffic accidents happen at night (2017 date from NHTSA) and a shocking 19% of children aged 14 and younger killed in traffic accidents were pedestrians? Zapped uses reflective technology giving wearers 360 degrees of night-time visibility from drivers, helping pedestrians play hard and be seen more safely on the streets.
“Play hard / be seen” means more than reflective essentials – it also means showing off our true and awesome selves. We see a bright light shining from the essence of every human, and in this essence hides a genuine desire to make the world a better place. So, we set out to create wardrobe essentials that are both functional and fun, with a unique safety attribute that allows people to literally be seen while sharing their light with others.

What brought you to the Kootenays and how long have you been here?
Left Vancouver in 1999 seeking less traffic and easier access to the mountains. My husband grew up in Nelson, he was happy to return to the mountain Mecca.

The future is bright! Our vision is that all wardrobe essentials worldwide incorporate reflectivity, adding a unique safety attribute while staying functional and fun. Ultimately, our goal is for everyone to play hard and be seen on the global playground for generations to come.
