We offer specialized sewing repairs for outdoor gear and apparel including jackets, pants, bags, backpacks, tents, hats, and gloves. Repair work includes zippers, patching, tailoring, hemming, and we also can waterproof seams and zippers.

Give us a brief description of your manufacturing processes and philosophy.

We we have a love and appreciation for the outdoors and emphasize gear circularity and waste reduction. By using our services, you can celebrate the fact the gear you love will continue getting you to the places you love.

How many employees and/or contractors do you work with?

I am the sole proprietor and only worker at the moment.

What brought you to the Kootenays and how long have you been here?

I grew up in Nelson and have come and gone over the years but family and community brought me back this last time and I’m happy to be home.

Tell us about the history and relative work experience of your founder(s).

I grew up with a mom who owned a home-sewing business and I’ve been sewing for over 25 years. I learned from her about doing general repairs and the technique of industrial sewing. Over the years I’ve worked for other repair and mending businesses and have taught swering classes for various groups of different age groups.

The mission at OG Repair is to breathe new life into outdoor apparel in the heart of the Kootenays. We are dedicated to expert sewing repairs that restore the functionality of the gear you love and that helps you enjoy the outdoors. By diverting gear from landfills, OG will strive to be part of a greener outdoor community, promoting a circular economy and reducing environmental impact. OG Repair’s vision is to foster a community that values longevity over disposability, where every repaired garment tells a story. Through commitment, craftsmanship and sustainable practices, the aim i sto support a culture of responsible outdoor exploration and contribute to a world where waste is minimized and the nature we love to explore is respected.
