Ion2 provides high-end service and sales for mountain bike, dirt bike, ATV, UTV and snowmobile suspension products. We also offer custom tuning and upgrades that can take an existing suspension from functioning at a base level to delivering a game-changing ride experience.
Give us a brief description of your manufacturing processes and philosophy.
Our service centre operates on an appointment basis that provides customers and retailers with specific timelines for their service in the interest of getting riders back on their equipment as soon as possible. Outside of having quick turnaround times, we put a focus on quality of service by using high-end lubricant, seals, and other service parts to make sure the suspension being received is ready to take on the riding season while achieving peak performance. Our technicians also rigorously quality control every suspension product that leaves the building to make sure that what’s coming out of the box exceeds the end user’s expectations.
For those looking to replace their existing suspension or kit-out a fresh new build, we offer a wide selection of products suitable for the budding enthusiast to the seasoned pro and everyone in between. When someone purchases suspension from us, we perform a detailed setup and offer ongoing after purchase advice to ensure that suspension is working optimally to give the best rider experience possible.
How many employees and/or contractors do you work with?
During peak season, we have four full-time employees working to serve our customers and retailers.
What brought you to the Kootenays and how long have you been here?
Jon and Mylene came here in 2001 as seasonal workers looking for a change of scenery. Since then, they’ve stayed for the experience-rich outdoor lifestyle that the Columbia Valley has to offer.
Tell us about the history and relative work experience of your founder(s).
Jon and Mylene have been active participants in the mountain bike, dirt bike, off-road, and snowmobile communities since moving here. Jon started repairing suspension while working in bike shops and soon identified that the suspension service market was visibly underserved. With Mylene’s background in sales and marketing, the couple started Ion2 Suspension out of their home and grew the business organically by building relationships with local bike shops in BC and Alberta. Fast forward to now and Ion2 has expanded to offer a wide array of products and services through online and physical retail channels, becoming a respected name in high-end suspension sales, tuning and maintenance.
Describe the mission, vision, goals, and aspirations of your company.
