Group Trail Run

Join Purcell Outdoors and fellow local trail runners for a group trail run exploring Kimberley’s stunning trails. Guides will be taking scenic routes with a pace around 7-8km per hour, featuring some rolling hills to keep things interesting. Lace up your trail shoes, bring your sense of adventure, and hit the trails with your fellow attendees.

Also, Francis Argouin will be on site during the Outdoor Connect event offering free demos of Nnormal trail running shoes, specifically the Kjerag and the Tomir.

Ski Hill Sender

The Ski Hill Sender is a leg burner. It goes straight up the old T-bar route at the Kimberley Alpine Resort. From the Conference Center, this two-kilometre sweat-fest offers 500 meters of elevation gain and takes you to the Kootenay House at nearly 1,800 metres above sea level. From the top, the view of the Hughes Range of the Rocky Mountains across the Rocky Mountain Trench is stunning.

Kimberley Nordic Club Biathlon Target Training

The Kimberley Nordic Club is offering a biathlon rifle demo session featuring their newest line up of rifles, called the ECO AIM’s. The Electronic Eco Aim’s Biathlon Rifle is an optical shooting device designed for shooters of any level. It is completely safe as it uses infrared light and a camera so no bullets, lasers, noise, or harmful metals are involved. Participants will learn “5 Steps to Accurate Shooting” and will get a chance to put it all together with a fun mini biathlon competition and get to feel what is it like to be a real biathlete.

Talk & Walk Autumn Hike

For something more mellow, join our guide on a walk around the Kimberley Community Trails. We’ll keep to the flat trails and enjoy the fall colours, including the larch trees turning yellow. No sweatbands required for this activity: we’ll keep it slow and and enjoy the autumn show.
