On June 28 and 29, Kimberley’s downtown Platzl will transform into a celebration of mountain culture with KOREfest + Localpalooza — a two-day event packed with live music, innovative gear makers, food vendors, and family-friendly fun.
Brought to you by KORE and Centre64, this outdoor gear and music festival is sure to entertain music lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and those just keen to connect with the vibrant Kootenay community.
At the heart of the festival is a showcase of Kootenay-based outdoor gear brands, each bringing their latest creations to the plaza. They include Kootenay Mountain Boats, Northern Teardrop Trailer, Après Skied, Ghostrider Equipment, Dark Horse Innovations, Lynx OGT and Shishka Sleeping Bags among others. Come meet the makers, try out new gear, and get inspired by the ingenuity driving BC’s outdoor economy.

KORE Re-Hub Offering Free Gear Repairs
Need a zipper fixed or your sleeping bag patched? The KORE Re-Hub Program will be on-site all weekend offering free outdoor gear repair services. Professional technicians will be operating out of a fully equipped mobile van (thanks to College of the Rockies), using industrial sewing machines to mend jackets, backpacks, sleeping bags, and more.
Attendees are also encourage to bring hard goods, such as ski gear, that needs repairing. Selkirk Innovates will be on hand conducting a pilot project assessing hard gear using innovative scanning tools. If you’ve got something in your garage that needs fixing, bring it by and find out what’s possible.
