Vince Hempsall

The award-winning film “Subterranean” won the hearts of audiences at the 2025 Banff Mountain Film Festival and now KORE will be screening it at multiple communities in the Kootenays to bring awareness to the organization as well as network member Minus 90 caving apparel.

Dates of the events are as follows:

  • March 11: Nelson • Capitol Theatre • 7-9pm
  • March 12: Kimberley • Centre 64 • 7-9pm

The 53-minute film showcases the deepest cave in Canada, located near Fernie, and will be followed by an onstage conversation with Katie Graham, one of the film’s stars, and adventure journalist Jayme Moye.

After the lights come up, Katie will take us deeper into the story behind the film and her all-consuming drive to explore the cave system known as Bisaro Anima. She’ll also discuss her move from a corporate accounting career to full-time exploration and the creation of Minus90 Gear, the performance caving apparel company she co-founded when the equipment she needed didn’t exist.

Come for the film. Stay for the stories, the grit, and the gear talk. This will be an unforgettable evening for anyone who loves wild places, bold pivots, and the kind of curiosity that refuses to turn back.
