Give us a brief description of your manufacturing processes and philosophy

CarryCast currently partners with third-party suppliers to provide its range of compact fishing gear.

Looking ahead, the company plans to develop and patent its own line of high-quality, durable products with a focus on sustainable materials and reducing its environmental footprint.

How many employees and/or contractors do you work with?

Just one.

What brought you to the Kootenays and how long have you been here?

I first moved to the Kootenays from Ontario in 2016 to pursue the incredible outdoor activities the area is known for. This passion for the outdoors has only increased over the years and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

Tell us about the history and relative work experience of your founder(s).

Working in sales during my twenties sparked my entrepreneurial drive and deep interest in business. Over the years, I’ve dedicated significant time to self-education and personal development.

My work as an environmental technician in the Elk Valley over the last five years has given me a strong appreciation and respect for the land I call home. CarryCast was founded as a way to give back to the outdoor community and to encourage people to slow down, reconnect with nature, and find calm through fishing; something our world needs now more than ever.

Describe the mission, vision, goals, and aspirations of your company.

My goal with CarryCast is to establish the brand as the North American leader in ultra-compact fishing gear. Beyond building a successful company, I want to inspire more people to spend time outdoors and experience the mental health benefits that come from fishing and connecting with nature.
